Kevins Spare Room Makeover

So Kevin's spare bedroom that had been packed to the ceiling front to back, over several weeks work got emptied out. Floor was wet sanded and sealed, though probably should have gotten a power sander and all that but the budget allowed for wet sanding which got most of the old paint spatters and stains out, other stains are there for the duration. Patched wall areas, sealed stains and all that then on to 3 colors! Wall medium brown, Ceiling semi-gloss white and Crown molding / base boards light brown color. Forward! Lugged powered recliner through the torturous route down a narrow hall and 2 very narrow doors, and nope the back didn't come off without taking the wiring harness apart for the heat/massage unit... Hauled in a corner desk assembly and assembled it. Computer system was relocated, dresser and side table moved in. Huff puff... office chair, light stand, end table, cleared out the closet, relocating his empty luggage to the closet along with summer wear shirts etc. And there you have it.

Floor done

Door is just to the left in this picture, new desk

Front Steps Project

Allowing for the bright blue paint being handy at the time to seal up the new wood of the steps, and mind full that in a few days next week the house Trim color is being changed to WHITE here is a couple of shots of whats happening to the front door area.

Still have to clear the remaining bricks and level the brick walk on the right where it meets the steps. Then again this arrangement is temporary till spring, when a 4 foot deck/walk around goes where the steps are on both sides and down the sidewalk side of the house. The Plan is for the front door to be turned 90 degrees and change wall sides around to the right. The small porch to be enclosed and become a second entry way closet. Gee it sounds simple. Time and health willing its... "inevitable" !

Uh Oh!

I got busy before the rains come and moved mountains of stuff, broke down old stuff and got rid of it till I could do:
Yep, parked the car next to the Vespa in the garage. And  yes, you can walk around the front of the car to the other side, open the door and get in. Just behind the car is the game storage cabinet with tote storage trays on top. It is replacing my crumbling press wood storage drawer systems in the metal shed outside of the garage.  Next is on to the workshop to get all the excess Stuff out of there, fix the lights and reclaim it for the betterment of , um,... er.. all man and woman kind!!

New Wheels

After nearly a year of just us having the Colorado Truck to get around in, inspiration took hold and a newish Chevy HHR adorns our life;

All the standard options, ac, stero/ cruise control, lots of head room, room in the back with a moveable shelf for storage, handles great, 24 to 32mpg, way better than the Colorado truck we have.. which is how we come by this car.. took the truck to the shop to have the AC checked and wandered outside to kick tires... this 2010 former fleet rental caught my attention, checked things out.. and bought it.  :)
